Yoga and forest bathing in the Aletsch Arena

For body, mind and soul

Find inner peace, become one with the forest and really switch off: Aletsch Forest is a true paradise for forest bathing. Forest bathing, also known as “Shinrin Yoku”, is basically nothing more than a mindful walk through the forest involving all your senses. However, the Aletsch Arena is an ideal place for yoga enthusiasts too. Here, you can feel the power of nature through the energies of the Great Aletsch Glacier and the surrounding four-thousand-metre mountains.

Aletsch Arena, a yoga and forest bathing paradise

The fresh Valais mountain air, the breathtaking panorama, the energy of the Great Aletsch Glacier: the list of reasons why the Aletsch Arena in particular is so good for outdoor wellness such as forest bathing and yoga is virtually endless. Although, one thing deserves a special mention, and that’s the Aletsch Forest. The Swiss stone pines, some as much as 1000 years old, radiate a very special energy.

In the Aletsch Arena, you can do your yoga exercises in one of the most beautiful natural paradises in Switzerland. The fresh Valais mountain air lets you breathe even more deeply and also has a stimulating effect on body, mind and soul. During your stay in Valais, look forward to various yoga courses, SUP yoga or the Mountain Glow Yoga Festival.

  • SUP-Yoga

What a backdrop: the imposing mountain peaks and the blue sky are reflected in the clear water of Lake Bettmersee on Bettmeralp. SUP yoga puts you right at the centre of this work of art. The exercises on the SUP help you to find inner balance and peace. At the same time, you strengthen your deep muscles and train your balance.

  • At sunrise

The early bird starts the day deeply relaxed. Especially when it has done its yoga exercises at sunrise in the Aletsch Arena. Now, you too have the opportunity to start your day that way, by Lake Bettmersee on Bettmeralp at 6:15 in the morning.

  • Yoga in the morning or evening

What could be better than rounding off a day full of exciting and impressive experiences in the Aletsch Arena with yoga exercises? Are you a morning person? Courses are also offered in the morning.

These are supplemented by meditations, workshops, lectures, concerts, ceremonies and herbal walks. The breathtaking nature and energy of the Aletsch Arena makes the Mountain Glow a very special yoga event in Switzerland.

can you feel the energy?

No, forest bathing in the Aletsch Arena doesn’t involve jumping into a pond or lying in a bathtub. During forest bathing, you are very consciously on the move in the forest and soak it up with all your senses. Aletsch Forest in the Valais, with its up to 1000-year-old Swiss stone pines, provides the perfect setting for this. Forest bathing is not only relaxing, but also beneficial to health. Studies show that the body produces less of the stress hormone cortisol in the forest. Spending time in the forest also lowers blood sugar levels and blood pressure. So, what are you waiting for? Off to the forest – and if you like, combine it with yoga. Of course, you can also discover forest bathing by yourself – for example on a walk through the forest.
