Holiday at the foot of the Finsteraarhorn
It could hardly be more idyllic: situated in a picturesque valley at the foot of the 4274-metre-high Finsteraarhorn, Fieschertal presents itself very modestly and radiates a grandiose authenticity. A small village in the Aletsch Arena, one might think. In terms of the number of inhabitants, that may be true. But Fieschertal, at 1100 metres above sea level, is the fourth largest municipality in Canton Valais in terms of area behind Bagnes, Zermatt and Evolène. Fieschertal is an insiders' tip for holidays in Switzerland, for all those who like it authentic, familiar and active.
By the way: anyone who spends their holidays here spends them next to Mönch and Jungfrau. Both mountains are partly on the municipal territory of Fieschertal.
