Over the viaduct on holiday

The journey by train to Lax is something very special. After the stop in Grengiols, the train crosses the impressive viaduct of the Matterhorn Gotthard Railway and goes through the 592-metre long helical tunnel in the direction of Lax station. Once you arrive in the Valais holiday resort, a small, manageable and very cosy village awaits you. A special eye-catcher is the beautiful village square. The old part of the village takes you on a journey back in time.

What is special about Lax?

Lax scores points for its central location at 1048 m above sea level. In no time at all, you can be on the plateau of the Aletsch Arena, in Fiesch or in Goms. This makes Lax a good starting point for outdoor activities. You stay overnight in a small village, but you can still benefit from all the offers of the neighbouring communities. Directly in Lax you can choose from these experiences:

  • Children's playground

  • Fireplace "Swiss Family" Ledi

  • On the Stoneman Glaciara Route

  • Gogwärginiweg Lax-Fiesch-Fieschertal

  • Sledding run Laxeralp-Lax

In Lax there are only holiday flats available for overnight stays. The best way to book your bed is to use the webshop.

  • Tip: Free sports bus

As owner of a valid ski pass or guest card you can comfortably use the Sportbus Fieschertal-Fiesch-Lax for your winter sports. Important to know: The free shuttle is intended solely for winter sports enthusiasts. As a check, make sure you are wearing the appropriate clothing.
