Recreation at the foot of the Eggishorn

Locals and regular guests call the cosy Fiescheralp "Kühboden". The car-free village owes its nickname to the cows of the Fiesch farmers who spend their summer here. But not only the cows enjoy the warm season at altitude. Guests also enjoy the breathtaking nature, the peace, the sunshine and the high air quality during their summer holidays. On the car-free Aletsch Plateau you can enjoy the sun from early morning to late at night. You can fill up with additional energy at the power point of the nearby View Point on the Eggishorn. And in winter? You are always the first on the mountain to ski the wide and perfectly groomed slopes of the Aletsch Arena ski area.

The alp for those seeking peace and quiet

Everyday life on the Fiescheralp in the Aletsch Arena is as comfortable as chewing the cows. Here, at 2212 metres above sea level, those seeking peace and quiet get their money's worth. And if you feel the urge to get out and about in the summer, you can go on a hike, bike tour or paragliding flight. In winter, the slopes are practically on the doorstep, so you can start enjoying the snow right away. The car-free Fiescheralp can only be reached with the cable car from Fiesch.

Why is the Fiescheralp suitable for summer and winter holidays?

A glacier, bike or climbing tour, a hike or a gondola ride up to the View Point on the Eggishorn: on the Fiescheralp, an extensive programme for your summer holidays in Valais awaits you. In winter it is worthwhile to experience the 13-kilometre-long downhill run to Lax by sledge, to ski and snowboard or to go on a relaxed snowshoe tour.

What activities can you look forward to in winter?

On the Fiescheralp, winter holidays are not just winter holidays. You'll be on the freshly groomed slopes of the Aletsch Arena in no time at all. These have a few special features in store for you. For example, the downhill run from the Eggishorn (black piste) or the skiline speed track provide a real adrenalin kick. To ski on a black piste, of course, you need some practice and the appropriate skills. You can acquire these skills at the snow sports school Fiesch. There are courses for young and old. The Fiescheralp is also a good starting point for ski tours. The sleigh ride to Lax is also great fun. On the 13-kilometre route there are fast passages and sharp bends.

What activities await you in summer and autumn?

Dexterity, courage and a head for heights are useful qualities when climbing. In the Eggishorn Rope Park you can prove these qualities. 300 metres of altitude to be overcome promise two to three hours of pure climbing pleasure in one go. Exciting traverses, vertical passages and always a great view of the Valais mountain panorama are included in this adventure.

Family holidays on the alp

On the Fiescheralp, children can romp around carefree, because the place is car-free. In addition, the offers in summer and winter are also tailored for families. The Eggishorn via ferrata, for example, is also suitable for older children. A guided tour on the Great Aletsch Glacier is possible with children from 6 years of age. Other great offers and activities for children on the Fiescheralp are:

  • den Klettersteig Eggishorn bezwingen

  • eine gemütliche Biketour unternehmen

  • das ewige Eis des Aletschgletschers erkunden

  • auf dem Gogwärgini-Themenweg auf Schatzsuche gehen

  • in der Schneesportschule Fiesch Skifahren lernen

  • Spass im Snowgarden Fiesch haben

View Point

Anyone who stands on the View Point Eggishorn probably suffers from a complete sensory overload in the first moment. Not only are the entire 23 kilometres of the Great Aletsch Glacier visible. No, also the Fiescher Glacier, 40 four-thousand-metre peaks and the view as far as the Matterhorn and the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau will leave you speechless.
