Guest satisfaction

Best Ski Resort

The Best Ski Resort Study is the largest and most significant guest satisfaction analysis in 54 selected top ski resorts in the Alpine region AT, CH, IT, FR. The study, which has been conducted periodically since 2012, is supported by the University of Innsbruck.

The Aletsch Arena confirms its top quality! With an overall score of 8.24, the Aletsch Arena is the second-highest-rated ski destination in Switzerland and once again ranks 6th in the top 10 – as it already did in 2023. Since 2012, guests have consistently rated the Aletsch Arena at a very high level. Category wins in Rent & Service as well as Peace & Relaxation, plus top 5 rankings for snow reliability, children’s and family offerings, and nature experience, underline this excellent result.

3rd place in terms of recommendation rate (the Net Promoter Score is 60.9%, with an average of 38.8% in the Alpine region).

Blick Winter Awards

Every year, Blick and Switzerland Tourism hold a public online vote to find the best ski destinations in Switzerland. The Aletsch Arena enters in the main categories “Ski and Snowboard” and “Family”.

At the Blick Winter Awards, the Aletsch Arena won gold in the “Family” category, making it the most popular family ski area in Switzerland.

A total of 68,000 people took part in the vote. Overall, 68 Swiss winter destinations were nominated across six categories. The award confirms the high quality of the Aletsch Arena as a family-friendly ski resort in Switzerland.

The Aletsch Arena is officially one of the best ski resorts in Switzerland.

Thanks to the support of our guests, the Aletsch Arena has made it onto the podium in the ‘Best Ski Resort in Switzerland’ category at the Blick Winter Awards. A total of 50,000 people voted. There were 66 destinations to choose from.

The Aletsch Arena placed third out of 27 in the main category “Ski and Snowboard” and third out of 48 entrants in the “Family” category. Our neighbours at Goms Tourism won the “Cross-country skiing” category for the third time in a row.

In the Blick Winter Awards, the Aletsch Arena secured third place in the main category “Ski and Snowboard”, close behind Zermatt Matterhorn. In “Family”, the second category for which the Aletsch Arena was nominated, the region claimed the second spot on the podium. Our warmest congratulations go to the neighbouring Goms Tourism who again won an award in the category “Cross-country Skiing”. Bellwald made it into third place in the “Small but exquisite” category. Well done! Our warmest thanks to all the guests who voted for us.

Sustainability

Swisstainable

The Aletsch Arena participates in the Swisstainable sustainability programme by Swiss Tourism. Guests interested in sustainable activities can easily get lost in the jungle of labels out there. Switzerland Tourism launched Swisstainable to offer guests better orientation, by defining a scheme in consultation with external experts and in close collaboration with the tourism associations.

The Aletsch Arena AG and the Aletsch Bahnen AG meet the criteria for the category “Level I – Committed”. Level I is aimed at businesses that do not (yet) have any certifications or other proof of sustainability, but are nonetheless committed to sustainable business management and want to continuously develop their business in the direction of sustainability.

Ski area test winner

The renowned International Ski Area Test gets its data from detailed, anonymous tests in 36 tourism regions in the European Alpine region.

The International Ski Area Test is an anonymous quality assessment covering a wide range of test criteria. The Ski Area Test team has been travelling around Europe’s alpine region evaluating ski resorts and tourist destinations for 30 years. The Aletsch Arena was the Swiss Ski Area Test winner in 2025.

In addition, the Aletsch Arena received several awards: for having the best slope team, the International Slope Quality Seal for its perfectly groomed pistes every day, the Green Mountain Award for sustainable commitment, and the International Snowshoe Trail Quality Seal. The Bättmerhitta received the gold award for the Best Mountain Restaurant. A special recognition was given to Technical Director Anton Franzen, who was honored with the «Technical Management» award for his outstanding dedication.

The International Ski Area Test, launched 28 years ago, is an anonymous quality check. In winter as in summer, visits are paid to participating ski resorts or tourism destinations, which are inspected and evaluated based on a comprehensive list of criteria. Aletsch Bahnen AG was named winner of the overall summer ranking, earning the title “Test Winner Switzerland – Summer 2023 Gold”. The Aletsch Arena cable car company also won the “Nature & Environment” and “Ecological Construction Monitoring” categories for the new Moosfluh geology footbridge. Aletsch Bahnen AG was also awarded the “International Summer Quality Seal – Cart/Scooter Trail Gold”. Aletsch Bahnen AG’s existing ropes course and the refurbished Baschweri children’s playground in the municipality of Bettmeralp have been awarded the “Kinderland Trophy – Baschweri Gold”.

The Aletsch Arena cable car company also won the “Rising Star Project 2020 Switzerland – Public Transport Hub Fiesch” and the “Mobility Trophy – Public Transport Hub” categories. The piste and rescue team was delighted to receive the “International Piste Seal of Quality – Double Gold” and the “Piste Manager Trophy”.

The piste and rescue team can be rightfully proud of their “Piste Rescue Safety Trophy – Gold”, “International Piste Seal of Quality – Double Gold” and the “International Toboggan Run Seal of Quality (Moosfluh)”. The Bättmerhitta was named the Most Popular Ski Hut.

Skiresort.de, the world’s biggest test portal for ski resorts, has once again recognised the best ski resorts around the world this year. The Skiresort.de Awards are presented for outstanding achievements by ski resorts in various categories.

In 2019, the Aletsch Arena received an excellent rating as a top ski resort.

Travel guide “Lonely Planet”

The world-famous travel guide “Lonely Planet” recommends Valais as a travel destination for the year 2025. The mountain canton is ranked fifth in the guide's “Best in Travel 2025” list of the top 10 regions. The Aletsch Glacier is listed as a “Top Choice”.
