The Martisberg Enduro Trail is not a loud star but a quiet hit – and that’s exactly what makes it special. You reach it: via Fiescheralp and Bettmeralp over the Herrenweg or as a branch off the Bettmerhorn Trail.
After a short climb at Bättmerhitta, you dive into a hidden terrain chamber on the Enduro Trail. And that’s where the magic begins. The narrow path winds through alpine roses, juniper, blueberry & lingonberries – pure scenery in the Aletsch Arena. Time and again you surf over small ridges and flowing traverses. The larch forest section gets rootier, more technical – but never unfair. The line mixes earthy curves, short rockier sections, alpine meadows, and forest stretches – really good to ride, really beautiful to experience. Shortly before Martisberg is a short asphalt section before the Martisberg Enduro Trail kicks you into a steeper part again – cleanly rideable but demanding.
Then it gets chillier: The former forest road is now a single trail with charm – playful, rhythmic, down into the valley. At the bottom, you can easily return via forest road or Matterhorn Gotthard Railway (included with day ticket) back to Fiesch or to the Bettmeralp valley station.
Highlights:
- Hidden dream line through blueberry bushes & larches.
- Enduro trail with interplay of flow, roots, and technique.
Trail signage: Follow the red signposts with white biker symbol as well as the black sticker with the abbreviation MAT – this stands for Martisberg Enduro Trail.
Note: At the trail entrance and when switching between different difficulty levels, the corresponding difficulty level is marked.
Important: Respect for hikers & nature in the Aletsch Arena – ride with attitude.
