The starting point of the themed trail is the mid-station of the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car on the Fiescheralp. The Gogwärgiweg leads downhill over the historic Herrenweg to Fiesch, located 1,150 m lower. Along the way, you hike in the footsteps of the Gogwärgini – small, hardworking dwarfs said to have once lived throughout Upper Valais: At ten Gogwärgi stations, adults and children are entertained with traditional Gogwärgini stories and can playfully uncover many natural secrets. A highlight of the varied trail is the Gogwärgiturm tower, which you pass halfway. According to legend, the Gogwärgini of Fiesch once lived in this stone pyramid.

Getting there

Exit from canton road 19 at Fiesch and then continue on the Furkapass road to the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car of the Aletsch Bahnen AG.

Parking

At the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car of the Aletsch Bahnen AG in Fiesch, a large, fee-based parking lot is available.

Public transportation

Travel by train from Brig or Oberwald to Fiesch, then continue on foot to the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car of the Aletsch Bahnen AG. Then comfortably take the cable car up to the Fiescheralp.
