The start and end point of the circular route opened in 2019 is the mountain station of the Eggishorn cable car. From here, you reach particularly impressive viewpoints on the approximately 500-meter-long circular route. A total of 9 glacier lounges invite you to enjoy the magnificent view of over forty four-thousanders and the Great Aletsch Glacier. Information boards along the route provide you with interesting facts about the largest ice stream in the Alps and the UNESCO World Heritage Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch. You should allow about an hour for the easy-to-walk circular route – including resting times at the lounges. Part of this impressive theme trail is pram-friendly and barrier-free.

Directions & Parking facilities

Follow the cantonal road 19 to the Fiesch exit, then Furka road to the valley station of the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car (Aletsch Bahnen AG). Take the cable car up to the Eggishorn.

Large, paid parking lot at the valley station of the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car (Aletsch Bahnen AG).

By train from Brig or Oberwald to Fiesch, then on foot to the valley station of the Fiesch-Eggishorn cable car (Aletsch Bahnen AG). Take this up to the Eggishorn.
