This challenging tour follows the original route of the SwissAlps 100 Vertical race and takes you from Fiesch up into the high-alpine landscape of the Aletsch Arena. Over 10.3 kilometers, you’ll climb a total of 1,830 meters in elevation—and it’s practically all uphill from the very first meter to the very last. Once you reach the summit of the Eggishorn, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with a spectacular panorama. The view stretches across the Swiss Alps to the Matterhorn and the imposing Great Aletsch Glacier, the centerpiece of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.” After the climb, the Horli Hitta invites you to enjoy a well-deserved refreshment and a break with a unique view. Afterward, you can comfortably take the gondola back down to the valley. From the valley station in Fiesch, it’s only about 1 kilometer back to the starting point. Ticket Tip: Aletsch Explorer Pass (www.aletscharena.ch/en/planning-booking/offers-experiences/aletsch-explorer) for full mobility throughout the entire Aletsch Arena.
