SwissAlps 100 Vertical

This challenging tour follows the original route of the SwissAlps 100 Vertical race and takes you from Fiesch up into the high-alpine landscape of the Aletsch Arena. Over 10 kilometers, you’ll climb a total of 1,830 meters in elevation—and it’s practically all uphill from the very first meter to the very last.

Once you reach the Eggishorn cable car upper station, you’ll be rewarded for your efforts with a spectacular panorama. The view stretches across the Swiss Alps to the Matterhorn and the imposing Great Aletsch Glacier, the centerpiece of the UNESCO World Heritage Site “Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.”

If you still have the energy and motivation, you can continue on to the summit cross of the Eggishorn at 2,926 meters above sea level. This short detour involves only about 70 additional meters of elevation gain and a distance of about 500 meters. At the top, you'll be rewarded with a magnificent panoramic view.

After the climb, the Horli Hitta invites you to enjoy a well-deserved refreshment and a break with a unique view. Afterward, you can comfortably take the gondola back down to the valley. From the valley station in Fiesch, it’s only about 1 kilometer back to the starting point.
