  • Start: Bettmeralp cable car mountain station
  • Destination: West cable car mountain station, Riederalp

From the mountain station of the Bettmeralp cable car, hike through the village of Bettmeralp to the valley station of the Bettmerhorn gondola. With the gondola, you reach the Bettmerhorn view point within minutes – a magnificent viewpoint and starting point of the hike. Before you start hiking, we recommend visiting the free experience exhibition “Bettmerhorn Glacier World” located directly at the mountain station. From Bettmerhorn, hike along the mountain ridge over Hohbalm and Biel heading west to the mountain station of the Moosfluh glacier railway and the second view point on this route. Here again, you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Great Aletsch Glacier and the panorama of the Valais mountain world. From here, follow the adventure ridge path over Hohfluh to Riederfurka, where Villa Cassel with the Pro Natura Centre Aletsch is located. On the last section, hike down from Riederfurka to Riederalp.
