This circular hike takes you through the spectacular landscape of the Aletsch region and offers constant views of the Aletsch Glacier, the largest glacier in the Alps. The route begins at the Moosfluh mountain station, one of the four viewpoints of the Aletsch Arena. Initially, it goes along the panorama path towards Bettmerhorn, with a constant view of the glacier. After a short descent, you reach near the glacier (Chazulecher) before the return path leads through the Aletsch Forest. The ascent is challenging but rewarding, with impressive views. From Alte Stafel, perhaps the most beautiful viewpoint, the route goes back to the Moosfluh mountain station. The descent to Riederalp can be done on foot or comfortably by train.

Directions

From the Moosfluh mountain station, follow the panorama path to the right towards Bettmerhorn. The path runs along the mountain ridge with views of the Aletsch Glacier. After about 1 kilometer, a short descent begins, leading you to the "Chazulecher" area, close to the glacier. From there, it goes back towards the Aletsch Forest. The ascent is steep but well developed. Once you reach Alte Stafel, you can enjoy a particularly beautiful view of the glacier. From there, the path leads back to the Moosfluh mountain station. The descent to Riederalp is optional by foot or by train.
