Ski pass prices and the advantages of the dynamic pricing system

Here we list all the main details of prices and purchasing options for your ski pass. Save money and benefit even more when you book early and online.

The Aletsch Arena is a fabulous ski area at the Great Aletsch Glacier with views of over 40 mountains of 4,000 metres or more. 104 kilometres of superbly groomed slopes for all proficiency levels, several snow parks and freeride routes are easy to reach thanks to the 35 lifts, and open up a varied snow sports paradise for old and young snow sports enthusiasts.

Ski passes with or without feeder lifts

Whether it’s a day trip, a short break in the valley or a skiing holiday on the Alp: the Aletsch Arena ski passes are tailored to your needs and so are available either with or without the feeder lifts (from the valley to the Aletsch plateau). If you’re spending your skiing holidays on the plateau and only need the feeder lifts on arrival and departure, you can book the multi-day ski pass that excludes the feeder lifts. If you’re staying overnight in the valley and use the feeder lifts daily, we recommend the ski pass that includes the feeder lifts. The SBB GA and Half-Fare travelcard are accepted on the feeder lifts.

Ski pass prices – how you can benefit from the dynamic pricing system

The prices of the 4-hour ticket, the one-day ski pass and the multi-day ski passes are dynamic. The earlier you book your ski pass, the cheaper it gets. The price on any one day is primarily determined by the time of booking, the mode of booking (online or in person) and the season. Weather conditions have no impact on the price.

The Day Pass (with feeder lift) costs between CHF 51 and CHF 66 at the ticket counter (it’s cheaper online).

Booking a ski pass online

When you book your ski pass online, you get a number of extra benefits:

  • Cheaper ski pass prices
  • No queuing at the ticket counter
  • Simply pick up your ski pass at our pick-up machines or, for a convenient alternative, load it onto your existing KeyCard or SwissPass.

Frequently asked questions

How does the dynamic pricing system work?

The dynamic pricing system applies to the half-day ski pass (4-hour), the one-day ski pass and the multi-day ski passes (up to 21 days). The prices are determined by various factors, such as the season (high or low season), the type of booking (online or locally) and the weekday or booking date. An algorithm determines the applicable price based on numerous parameters. Prices can increase on a daily basis, so it’s worth booking early and online. Aletsch Bahnen AG has defined a price model with moderate surcharges and attractive discounts.

Why should I book via the Aletsch Arena webshop?

With us you get a best-price guarantee. Booking online entitles you to an online discount on ski passes (half-day ski passes, one-day ski passes and multi-day ski passes up to 21 days).
Plus, you save yourself the hassle of queuing at the ticket counters.

I would like to buy my ski pass online. Where do I then get my ticket?

You can load your ticket directly onto an existing KeyCard or your SwissPass.
Or you can select the “Pick up” option in the webshop: after completing your booking, you will be sent a QR code. Print it out and use it to pick up your ski pass at one of the pick-up points (ticket machines).

The pick-up machines are located at all valley and mountain stations of the feeder lifts.

Do the dynamic prices also apply at the ticket counters (sales points)?

Yes. The dynamic pricing system also applies at the ticket counters (sales points). It is worth booking online, however, as tickets will always be cheaper there than at the ticket counters.
Does the dynamic price system make skiing in the Aletsch Arena more expensive?

If you book early and online, you can also ski more cheaply on days with high demand. The prices are transparent and can be consulted online at any time.

Under the new price model, how much does a day pass cost including the feeder lift from the valley?

If you buy from the ticket counter, the price of a day pass including the feeder lift from the valley ranges from CHF 51 to a maximum of CHF 66. Skiing is generally cheaper if you book early. The online price for a day pass including the feeder lift from the valley ranges from CHF 49 to CHF 64. In other words, online bookings are always the better option. If you book early and online, you pay less.

I can’t buy online and still want to benefit from the early bird discount. Is that possible?

Ski passes can be purchased from the Aletsch Bahnen ticket counters during regular opening hours after the start of sales.
Ski passes are not sent by post.

Do I get the family discount and the “Schgii fer frii” Saturday promotion when I book online?

Both discounts are automatically credited when buying multi-day ski passes in the webshop.
