*What is Seppi Day?

The Roman Catholic Church has celebrated March 19 since the Middle Ages as the day of St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus. St. Joseph, a carpenter by trade, is the patron saint of craftswomen, especially carpenters and joiners.

In Switzerland, St. Joseph's Day is often called Seppi Day. In some cantons and municipalities, St. Joseph's Day is a public holiday.
