The hike leads from Riederfurka through the Aletsch Forest, across the Knebel Bridge, and on to Oberried.
Along the way, renowned glaciologist Dr. Hanspeter Holzhauser will share fascinating insights into the history of the Great Aletsch Glacier. He will explain how its location and extent have changed over the past millennia. As a proven expert on historic water conduits, he also demonstrates how glacial water was channeled all the way to Oberried. The group will be accompanied by our members Christoph Golob and Raimond Tscherrig.
Upon arrival in Oberried, the municipality of Bitsch invites participants to join in a communal dinner.
