The Grand Tour of Switzerland is one of the most famous round trips in Switzerland. One of the reasons for this is that there are many different photo spots with fabulous views along the 1,643-kilometre route. The Aletsch Arena in Valais features several photo spots on the fourth stage from Bellinzona to Zermatt. You’ll find one of them on Bettmeralp. It is located 400 metres from Bettmeralp mountain station and offers you a breathtaking view of the surrounding Valais mountains and the Maria zum Schnee Chapel, built in 1697. The Maria zum Schnee Chapel at around 1,950m above sea level is without question the emblem of Bettmeralp.
