Lessons in the snow for young and old 

The snow sports instructors at the Swiss Ski School Bettmeralp are there to help you improve your skiing, snowboarding or cross-country skiing technique in group lessons. Adults are taught to ski at beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Group lessons can be booked for one to five days. 

Children’s snow sports instructors take a playful approach in helping children from the age of three to learn to ski. Courses run from Monday to Friday. The weekly ski race in the Snowgarden is held on Fridays. Every child wins a medal. 

The Ski School Bettmeralp recommends a taster day for the youngest skiers. Children accompanied by their parents can also attend a ski taster lesson in the Snowgarden to prepare them for group lessons. 

Children who are already confident on their skis can spend a week improving their braking and cornering skills in Prinzenland, which is located at the Tanzboden conveyor belt right next to Bachtla Sports Centre. There they are supported by children’s ski instructors. On Fridays there is a ski race in Prinzenland where every child can win a medal. 

Older children and teenagers are taught in Blue, Red or Black League courses according to their ability. Each lesson lasts three hours. 

Snowboard lessons take place over the course of a week and are divided into three different levels for group lessons. For snowboard beginners, a taster course is available on Sundays. The course requires a minimum of four persons. Three- to six-year-old children have the opportunity to get acquainted with the sport on the Snowboard Kids taster course on Wednesday afternoons. This course requires at least two persons. 

The cross-country skiing instructors introduce groups of two or more to skating or classic techniques in taster courses on Wednesday afternoons at Lake Bettmersee. 

All courses can be booked in person or online. 

Private lessons are also available in skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing and telemark skiing. To enhance the learning effect, the Ski School Bettmeralp recommends booking at least two lessons in a row. Courses can be arranged online, by phone, by email or in person at the location. 

Further offers from the Ski School Bettmeralp: the snow sports instructors are also happy to teach senior citizens or those returning to the sport. The Ski School also offers a course in freeriding and avalanche awareness.
