  • Start: Bettmeralp, cable car mountain station
  • Destination: Betten Village

From the mountain station of the Bettmeralp cable car, walk eastwards past the Maria zum Schnee chapel and typical Valais chalets through Bettmeralp. Now hike over the Baschweri Rope Park and then through a forest to the Weiden/Martisberg junction and follow it. The descent to Martisberg leads through a particularly beautiful and idyllic landscape: Colourfully blooming, species-rich meadows where cows graze. Wonderful larch forests. And again and again beautiful spring alpine farms. Upon arrival in Martisberg, you cross the village and hike on the forest road through the Baderwald to Betten Village. Beautiful views of the Rhone Valley open up to you repeatedly. From Betten Village, you take the cable car back up to Bettmeralp or alternatively down to Bettmeralp valley station. Note: Due to its originality and species richness, the region before Martisberg was selected for a biodiversity project by Forst Aletsch.
