  • Start: Bettmeralp, mountain station cable car
  • Destination: Betten Village

From the mountain station of the Bettmeralp cable car, walk eastwards past the Maria zum Schnee chapel and typical Valais chalets through Bettmeralp. Then hike over the Baschweri rope park and through a forest to the Weiden/Martisberg junction and follow it. The descent to Martisberg leads through a particularly beautiful and idyllic landscape. Wonderful larch forests. Upon arrival in Martisberg, cross the village and hike along the forest road through Baderwald to Betten Village. Beautiful views of the Rhone valley open up repeatedly. From Betten Village, take the cable car back up to Bettmeralp or alternatively down to Bettmeralp valley station.

Note: Due to its originality and biodiversity, the region in front of Martisberg was selected for a biodiversity project by Forst Aletsch.
