On 11 March 1986, the cantonal council approved the establishment of the forestry company Forst Aletsch.
What began back then in the old sawmill in Lax has now grown into a modern business with offices, factory halls, weather-protected storage facilities for firewood and wood chips, and a modern vehicle fleet. To mark its 40th anniversary, Forst Aletsch is offering a range of events and guided tours throughout the year. There will also be a number of information sessions on the theme ‘Forst Aletsch – working for your safety for 40 years’, followed by refreshments.

This year, Forst Aletsch is overhauling the Rollibock playground in Fieschertal. The company has also built a full-scale replica of a Kässbohrer snow groomer for the Bort playground in Grindelwald.
