Culture festival and the big alpine festival
After ten successful editions of the Riederalp Cultural Festival between 2006 and 2015, followed by a ten-year hiatus, the time has finally come in the summer of 2026: The cultural festival is celebrating a one-time revival on Riederalp. A special moment and a wonderful occasion to celebrate.
The annual Grosse Älplerfest kicks off with an invigorating open-air mass, accompanied by music from a yodeling group.
Another highlight of the day is the grand parade featuring various groups and magnificently decorated floats themed around tradition, modernity, culture, and contemporary life on the alp.
Afterward, the festivities continue with lively entertainment. Local clubs set the mood with folk music, yodeling, traditional costumes, and dancing. And of course, the traditional stone-throwing competition is a must.
