The hike leads from Riederfurka through the Aletsch Forest, across the Knebel Bridge, and on to Oberried.
Along the way, renowned glaciologist Dr. Hanspeter Holzhauser provides fascinating insights into the history of the Great Aletsch Glacier. He explains how its location and extent have changed over the past millennia. As an expert on historic water conduits, he also demonstrates how glacial water was channeled all the way to Oberried.
The group will be accompanied by our members Christoph Golob and Raimond Tscherrig.
Upon arrival in Oberried, the municipality of Bitsch invites participants to a communal dinner.
