Originally built to mark the boundaries between pasture land, as retaining walls or to provide protection against avalanches, drystone walls are now a major part of environmental infrastructure and cultural heritage in the region. The trail takes you from Riederalp to Bettmeralp, and you can feast your eyes on breathtaking views while also gaining a fascinating insight into the historical and modern significance of drystone walls. Use the QR codes provided to gain interesting insights into various wall sections and learn more about the craftsmanship that goes into building the walls. Embark on a journey and experience first-hand how this living tradition is preserved and passed on.

The themed trail can also be walked from Bettmeralp to Riederalp.
