Floods on the valley floor

Upper Valais was affected by the severe storms of 29 June 2024. This led to flooding, landslides and debris flows in various regions of Valais.

The tourist offers of the Aletsch Arena are not affected by the storm and are available to you accordingly.

Fortunately, the Aletsch Arena was only affected by these storms in the valley (Betten valley station). Some of the outdoor car parks at the Betten Tal valley station were washed under or away by the flooding Rhone (Rottu). There are sufficient safe parking spaces available for arriving guests at Betten Talstation. The affected perimeter is cordoned off.

We would like to thank the Aletsch management team, all the institutions involved and the many helpers who have been working in Valais over the past few days.

We look forward to seeing you.
