Celebrate Swiss National Day against a unique mountain backdrop in Bettmeralp. Look forward to a day full of variety, featuring a festival food stand, musical entertainment, a children’s program, cultural performances, and an atmospheric lantern walk. The official National Day celebration will take place—weather permitting—at the Maria zum Schnee Chapel or at the St. Michael Center.

Program

14.00 - 16.00 | Parent-child lantern-making (no registration required)
14.00 - 22-00 | Raclette get-together, coffee and cake, face painting for kids, and musical entertainment with LiJaGos and Ferspillt
16.00 - 20.00 | Live portraits by Andri Gotsch (illustrandi)
16.00 | Stories about the Maria zum Schnee Chapel, told by Bernhard Stucky
17.00 | Serenade by the Betten-Bettmeralp Music Society on the village square. Followed by a joint procession to the chapel.
18.00 | Official ceremony featuring the August 1st speech by Irène Meier, winner of SRF Landfrauenküche 2025
Followed by | Alpine blessing by Edelbert Mattig, festival food stands, a Switzerland quiz, and a bowling alley organized by Bettmeralp Kultur.
21.00 | Lantern walk starting at the Maria zum Schnee Chapel, through the center of St. Michael, and back to the chapel.
22.00 | End of the official celebrations
