On a hike, the author and former director of the Pro Natura Center Aletsch - Laudo Albrecht - takes us to selected locations that play a central role in his book "Aletsch - My Paradise". He tells us stories that make us think, smile and marvel.
For more than three decades, the Aletsch region was the daily focus of the former director of the Pro Natura Center Aletsch: the rapidly disappearing glacier, the ancient Swiss stone pines and gnarled larches in the Aletsch Forest, the fascinating red deer, and so much more. As with his book, the author brings us closer to his paradise on this hike and tells stories that were of great personal importance to him.
The book is a tribute to the Great Aletsch Glacier and its surroundings, but at the same time shows that this paradise is also coming under increasing pressure - not least due to global warming. The book is being published to mark the "50 years of the Pro Natura Center Aletsch" anniversary.
In case of bad weather, the event will take place at the Pro Natura Center Aletsch. Participants will be informed of the decision three days before the excursion.
Leader: Laudo Albrecht, certified biologist
