Good to know
Start by the cable car station on Bettmeralp, following the asphalt road down to the hamlet of Domo. From here the route continues downhill along the steep, winding road until shortly before the village of Betten, where a dirt track branches off to the left by Zwischen Achru, leading up to the village of Martisberg on a slight incline. Once you've passed the first hairpin bend at the eastern end of the village, switch to the single trail that turns sharply to the left. The trail is easy to ride and after a while it rejoins the asphalt road of Martisbergerstrasse, which leads town to the Deischbach and onwards to Lax. Those who want to avoid the single trail can stick to the asphalt road. On the technically unchallenging descent from the Aletsch Plateau along forest roads and dirt tracks, you'll see plenty of magnificent views of the Rhone Valley. For the final stage of the tour from Lax to Fiesch, turn right onto the dirt track to Alter Bach after the Bodenmann stables above Lax. This path leads over a slight incline via Wiler to Fiesch and is free of road traffic.
