Gold fever can strike anywhere – even in Valais. So it was in the 19th century, when the call of gold lured countless adventurers into the Zwischenbergtal Valley around Gondo, south of the Simplon Pass. Today, the “gold rush” is really more of a special holiday adventure, though with a bit of luck you can still find gold here. Take a guided tour and learn how to pan for gold or visit the abandoned gold mines of Gondo. If you just can't shake off the gold bug, you can participate in tours and courses lasting one or more days.
