The car-free destinations of Riederalp, Bettmeralp and Fiescheralp are perched high on the sunny Valais plateau. Barrier-free

Out and about in a wheelchair, not so good on your feet or using a pram or stroller? In the Aletsch Arena you can enjoy activities and unobstructed views of the Great Aletsch Glacier even with limited mobility. Some of the infrastructure in the Aletsch Arena is barrier-free. This is true for the Bettmerhorn view point (in summer and autumn) with its viewing platform and barrier-free panorama restaurant. On Fiescheralp, you can feel like an eagle despite your wheelchair and enjoy the wonderful panorama from your paraglider.

Sustainability

The breathtaking nature of the Aletsch Arena is its greatest asset. This fact makes the issue of sustainability absolutely vital to the Aletsch Arena. So, for example, all cable cars in the region are powered by renewable energy. Thanks to the good public transport connections, travelling here is convenient, comfortable and glacier-friendly. The Aletsch Arena scores high marks for sustainability and environmental protection. In 2019/2020, it was named one of the top ski resorts by Skiresort.de, the world’s largest test portal of ski resorts. In the eco-friendliness category, the Aletsch Arena was awarded a maximum five out of five stars.
