Aletsch via ferrata – around the Gibidum reservoir
Take a tour of the Gibidum reservoir – on the rocks! The Aletsch via ferrata, which runs along the rock face above the surface of the water, is well secured with iron footholds, wire ropes and handrails. All the same, the route covering some 3 km still has a few sections that will get your adrenalin pumping: besides dizzying climbing passages, the Aletsch via ferrata also presents obstacles including a Nepal suspension bridge 40 m high and 80 m long, as well as a Tyrolienne traverse.
You can climb the Aletsch via ferrata from the dam on the right or left bank (2 hours in either direction) or as a circular tour via the suspension bridge.
Accessible: June - October
