Eggishorn
"Above the clouds, freedom must be boundless"... as Reinhard Mey sings, and if you feel as though you are already journeying toward heaven in the gondola, then when you get to the top, you will think you are in paradise.
The Eggishorn (2,926 m/9,600 feet above sea level) is the only place from which you can admire the Aletsch Glacier in its entire elegance and as you turn around, you can see the Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Finsteraarhorn, Wannenhorn, and in the west the Weisshorn, the Mischabel Group with the Dom, and then as a bonus the Matterhorn.
